This CD-ROM File System Driver (CDFS.IFS) adds support for mixed-case file names longer than 32 characters. The reason for these changes to the CDFS is because some of the JAVA toolkit CD-ROMs have been mastered using names greater than 32 characters in length and using mixed case names. The CD-ROM included in the "Hooked on JAVA" publication is one such example.

In addition, support has been added for the new Microsoft Joliet CD-ROM format. (see "" for more details.) Joliet is a Microsoft extension to the ISO 9660 CD-ROM file system which adds Unicode and longname support. Joliet support is Presently both Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 supports the Joliet format. To enable the Joliet support, you must use the '/w' option in CONFIG.SYS to enable the Joilet support. Since many of the CD-R code is starting to ship with support for MS Joliet, this new format should become more and more common (at least for CDROMs created to be used on Windows).

This package is not required if FP4 or later has been installed.
